Quite a harsh Oak reduction

Sometimes whats best for the tree isn't the main priority, this was definitely the case with this large oak that used to be quite happy sitting in the corner of a field harming no one, until a caravan park was built around it. Then unfortunately it became a hazard tree that could potentially hurt someone as it now occupies a high risk area.

Rather than loose the tree all together we instead decided to give it a heavy reduction, removing all the major dead wood and reducing some of the remaining live branches in an effort to re balance the tree.

Hopefully the tree can now carry on for a few more years without any cause for alarm. The work might even encourage a bit more vigorous growth from the tree as stressing a declining tree can often give it a new lease of life.
