Rustic Oak Bridge

A few of my evenings of late have involved work on a Rustic Oak bridge I've been asked to make for an artificial stream. It took awhile to find a suitable piece of oak, I wanted something with a natural curve to form the arch.

Once milled into 4" slabs I took to it with the chainsaw to accentuate the curve, which was then evened out with a plain and draw knife

I repeated this with the other slab and tried to match them as well as I could

These were then joined with quarter sawn oak boards

Not quite finished yet as I still need to build the 'off ramps' and put up a hand rail

I will update again when I get around to finishing it. I'm pretty pleased with it so far, it really sits well in the garden.
